Summary Description of this Position:

The Warehouse Supervisor will manage and supervise the daily operations of the Security Room section of the Branch Distribution Center, which includes: receiving, storage, packaging, shipping, delivery, document control and maintenance of the facility and assigned equipment. Oversee inventory count process and assist with reconciliation.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions of this Position (list in order of most important to least important):

  1. Review daily workload for security room and assign work to associates in a fair and equitable manner, ensuring all tasks are completed as scheduled.

  2. Monitor the order picking process and double check orders to ensure the correct items and quantities of merchandise have been pulled from stock according to Shipping Documents. Monitor the packing, packaging, marking, stenciling, labeling, palletizing, strapping and loading of outgoing shipments to comply with customer and contract requirements.

  3. Supervise the receipt of all merchandise into the security room from manufacturers and other sources. Ensure that merchandise is received in the correct condition, packaging and amount.

  4. Maintain storage plans and a locator system to optimize the amount of product that can be stored.

  5. Prepare merchandise in the General Warehouse for periodic inventories. Assist with counting and reconciliation of Branch inventories as well as researching inventory discrepancies.

  6. Secure the Security Room at the end of the work day. Ensure areas are clean, lights are off, high security areas are secured, all doors locked, and security alarms set to provide protection to the facility, equipment and merchandise.

  7. Interview, train, supervise, evaluate and recommend salary adjustments for all General Warehouse Associates.

Qualifications

Minimum Education Requirements:

High School Diploma/GED

Experience Requirement (i.e. 5 yrs category mgmt or 3 yrs food brokerage):

  • 3 – 5 years warehouse related experience including up to one year supervisory/management experience.

Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements (i.e. “plan-a-gram” software expertise, presentation skills):

  • Strong Communication skills

  • Critical thinking, coordination and problem-solving skills

  • Must have experience with automated shipping and inventory control systems

  • Must be knowledgeable about precautions needed to protect those in warehouse from injuries and oversee strict adherence to all safety measures.
