Acosta Sales & Marketing Senior Business Manager in Mississauga, Ontario


The ASAP Senior Business Manager is responsible for managing the deployment of assigned principals’ ASAP work from initial inquiry to project finish. Their primary responsibility is representing Acosta and the principal during negotiation and execution of store coverage, set coverage, and special project coverage in stores, including accurate billing, reporting and analysis at project conclusion. The Senior Business Manager trains and assists other Business Managers and manages the work of Associate Business Managers and Business Center Specialists.


  • Build working relationships with clients, field management and Retail Business Center associates to foster cooperation and teamwork on projects.

  • Work with principal to negotiate and define project requirements, expectations, goals and objectives.

  • Communicate project requirements, goals and objectives to the Retail organization.

  • Refine project framework and collateral to ensure consistency and clarity for the Retail organization.

  • Coordinate the preparation and entry of each project into the necessary Acosta systems, such as NARS.

  • Manage clients’ service expectations for the duration of a project.Monitor Merchandiser feedback and adjust or revise reporting framework as needed during a project.

  • Use technology including Natural Insight, iQubed, and NARS to maintain an effective feedback and measurement system.

  • Coordinate the preparation of accurate and timely billing statements for each project.

  • Work with ASAP Retail Analysts to gather, analyze and report project data.

  • Communicate project results to clients.

  • Develop project recaps for internal use in the Retail Business Center knowledge base.

  • Manage the administration of the Retail Business Center knowledge base.

  • Create opportunities for revenue enhancement by reviewing project data and recaps, and coordinating the preparation of supporting documentation and presentation materials.

  • Coordinate and manage the work of Retail Business Center support staff, including Associate Business Managers and Business Center Specialists.

  • Assist in the design of Acosta’s proprietary systems when required.

  • Perform special assignments as requested.


  • Must have a proven track record in a sales capacity with a food broker or major national company. Prior experience must demonstrate sales skills along with the ability to successfully manage and direct others.

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with others. Must be able to operate a calculator, Proxima, computer, printer, fax machine, telephone and copier.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive a car.

  • Must be willing to travel.

  • Must be proficient in a variety of software packages used to support the sales function.

  • Must possess strong interpersonal, organizational, presentation, negotiation, and sales skills.

  • Must have the ability to analyze sales and marketing information needed to make effective salespresentations.
