Network Engineer



The Network Engineer position will be responsible for the strategic planning, installation, management and administration of the corporate network switches, routers, VPN and wireless devices. This position will assist the telecommunication, unified communication and data center teams to configure and troubleshoot any cross-platform solutions. This position will work directly with the Network Manager for the architecting, designing, planning and implementation of current and future network designs. The Network Engineer will also reccomend policies and procedures that are current with industry standards for maximum uptime while adhering to security policies.

Responsibilities :

1. Responsible for administration of network switches, firewalls, VPN and wireless.

2. Assist in the planning and network designs to management.

3. Implement upgrades, patches, equipment, upgrades and configurations.

4. Resolve network documentation.

5. Provides technical network consultation and guidance for IT entities.

6. Grant secure, reliable and cost-effective remote access to the network.

7. Meeting the physical requirements – listed below

8. Other duties as assigned


Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree


  • CCNA Certification required; CCNP preferred

  • Certifications in Cisco DCUCI, CCVP, VIVND, IUWND and CompTIA A preferred but not required.

  • Associate Degree / Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science.

  • Work experience may be substituted for some of the above requirements.

Work Experience Requirements:

  • 5 – 8 years of related work experience

  • 3 – 5 years of enterprise networking experience

  • Prior experience with network design and implementation planning.

  • Must have experience in project management with networking.

  • Enterprise Network experience working with Cisco, Dell, Brocade, Aruba, and Fortinet.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:

  • Knowledge of trends in technology

  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language

  • Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills
