Acosta Sales & Marketing Category Space Manager* in Fort Worth, Texas
The Category Space Manager role is responsible for the Acosta Space Management team's delivery of quality planograms to the retailer based on their internal planogram development schedule. This position will manage the modular team in all activities for the planogram development process including: buyer meetings, assortment recommendations, space 2 sales recommendations, and all space planning initiatives. This role will be the main contact to the retailer’s buying and space planning teams and is focused on managing Acosta’s Space Management team to ensure all planograms are delivered on-time with zero errors.
Manage the Acosta space management team to ensure all timelines are met during the planogram development process.
Lead the development of national strategic and tactical planogram action plans, establishing priorities that are consistent with the retailer’s buying team goals and objectives.
Ensure the Acosta space management team receives appropriate training and development related to the JDA software, automation scripts, product knowledge, fixture utilization and safety guidelines, as well as consumer shopping behaviors.
Be the information expert in the analysis of POS data to build the most efficient/productive planograms across the entire department.
Make recommendations to the retailer as appropriate to optimize space, assortment, etc. based on available data.
Utilize all tools and data available to design and present effective presentations to the retailer’s buying team and vendor community.
Leverage Acosta’s space automation capabilities to elevate planogram accuracy and team productivity wherever possible.
Prepare and deliver a monthly Business Review to the retailer’s space planning and buyer teams to discuss overall project status, timeliness, and quality metrics.
Miscellaneous duties as assigned
Must have a college degree or work experience equivalent and five (5) to seven (7) years’ relative experience in a Space Management related position or Space technology-based solution.Three (3) yrs. + experience in Consumer Package Goods (CPG) industry and Consumer analytics. Three (3) yrs. + People Management experience
Must have specialized knowledge and a degree of proficiency in JDA (Space planning), Windows, Excel, and related software applications.
Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, have the ability to communicate effectively and present a professional image.
Must have 2+ years’ experience in a tier 1 retailer’s planogram development process drawing planograms and working through the entire line review process
Experience managing a team of varying skills and experience.
Previous experience with POS sales data, IRI/Nielsen, Spectra and Market Track is preferred but not required
Proficient in JDA Pro Space and all Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint).
Knowledge of space technology software and understanding of CPG retail functions is required.
Ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines and motivate the team under pressure.
Ability to work with autonomy as well as collaboratively with team members.
Must be a self-starter and be willing to take ownership in your career path.
Maybe required to work a flexible schedule, late nights and weekends during certain times of the year.
Highly organized and goal oriented.
